take a bowl to combine 3 parts olive oil, 1 part white wine vinegar, and 1 part fresh lemon juice. Stir the mixture properly and pour it in a clean spray bottle. Take a soft, clean cotton towel, spray a little bit of the lemon oil polish on the towel, and rub it in a circular motion over the furniture; for wooden furniture, go in the same direction as the grain. In the end, take a dry, clean towel and wipe the oil off the furniture.
The best way for cleaning is to run a vacuum over it regularly. This will keep away any dust that collects in the woven parts.
Tip #6: If your sofa was left unused for a long time, there are chances of mold and mildew growth on its surface. For this, you have to prepare a solution by mixing up one part of rubbing alcohol with one part of water. Put this mixture on a spray bottle and apply it on the mold infested part of the sofa. Then rub a white lint free cloth gently over it in small circular motions. Then turn on the fan and let it air dry.
If you are buying a dresser, buffet, nightstand or any furniture piece that has drawers similar structural questions apply. While the style and finish are important there are other things to consider. Do the drawers have a slide locking system that prevents them from opening all the way and falling out? This is especially important if you have young children or elderly parents living in the home. Can the dresser be mounted to the wall for safety purposes? Does the dresser have easy glide drawers that open and close smoothly? Antique or hand-me-down items will not always conform to safety standards so beware of placing used furniture in a child's area.
