Tie-Dyed Clothes. Remember when bright, tie-dyed colors were all the rave? In the early eighties, everything was a starburst of six and seven different colors that didn't really match and could make your eyes water with the brightness of the design. Home furnishings have begun to incorporate this design again, with wall hangings of tie-dyed starbursts, throw rugs in the pattern, bedspreads full of tie-dyed spots, and even some couches artfully designed in such a manner. If you like the bright, anything goes style, this may be for you!
For hardwood furniture, consider sanding and applying a fresh coat of protective finish on it once a year.
Interestingly however, that fine Amish furniture being considered for purchase in a local furniture store showroom might be more traveled than the possible shopper. While Michigan is home to an estimated Amish population numbering less than 15,000 in 2015 according to a quick Wikipedia search, nearby states such as Ohio and Pennsylvania have significantly higher number of Amish inhabitants.
Oxidation is a common problem with aluminum furniture. So before cleaning outdoor tables and chairs made off aluminum, make sure to remove as much of the imperfection as possible.
